Representatives of Imbono were recently part of a visit made by Angola’s Minister of the Interior, Eng. Manuel Homem, to the National Police Aviation Unit Hangar in Luanda. The visit was an opportunity to review progress on a strategic project to strengthen the aviation and operational capabilities of the National Police.

The programme forms part of wider efforts to modernise public security infrastructure and strengthen the technical capabilities needed to support effective and sustainable operations.

The project includes the rehabilitation of aviation infrastructure, the acquisition of helicopters, and the training and capacity building of pilots and technical officers responsible for aircraft maintenance.

As Programme Coordinator, Imbono is working closely with the Ministry on the integrated delivery of these components, bringing together infrastructure, financing, equipment and technical expertise.

The project highlights the importance of not only managing the highly complex equipment required, but also developing the local capability to operate and maintain these platforms effectively over the long term.

Marcelo Hofke, COO of Imbono, said: "Projects of this complexity require more than infrastructure and equipment. Building the local skills and technical capabilities to operate and maintain these assets over the long term is equally important. This integrated approach is central to ensuring the programme delivers sustainable value for Angola."
