Imbono CEO joins UAE trade mission to strengthen partnerships across Latin America

Marcus Weyll, CEO of Imbono and CEO Gemcorp Middle East, has joined a high-level UAE economic delegation to South America, reinforcing the Gemcorp Group’s commitment to expanding strategic partnerships and delivering long-term infrastructure and investment opportunities across emerging markets.
Led by His Excellency Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, the eight-day UAE Trade Days mission visited Panama, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Guyana, bringing together senior government representatives and leading private sector organisations to deepen trade and investment ties across the region.
Representing Imbono and the Gemcorp Group, Marcus Weyll participated in a programme of bilateral meetings, business forums and engagements with heads of state, ministers and business leaders, exploring opportunities to accelerate collaboration in sectors critical to long-term economic development, including infrastructure, energy, water, logistics and essential services.
The mission reflects the UAE's continued commitment to strengthening its global network of economic partnerships while enabling UAE-based companies to expand into high-growth international markets. Latin America represents a strategically important region, offering significant opportunities across natural resources, infrastructure development, agriculture, energy and trade connectivity.
A key milestone of the visit was the UAE delegation's participation in the Mercosur Summit in Asunción, Paraguay, highlighting the UAE's growing engagement with one of the world's largest regional trading blocs. Bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and Mercosur reached US$6.2 billion in 2025, underlining the increasing importance of commercial ties between the regions.
The delegation also visited Guyana, where Dr Al Zeyoudi met with President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali to discuss opportunities to strengthen bilateral trade and investment and deepen cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.
For Imbono, participation in the mission reflects the company's ambition to build long-term partnerships that combine investment, operational expertise and delivery capability to support sustainable economic growth.
"The UAE has established itself as a global platform for connecting capital, expertise and opportunity," said Marcus Weyll, CEO of Imbono and CEO Gemcorp Middle East. "Participating in this mission reinforces our commitment to building trusted partnerships across emerging markets. Latin America presents significant opportunities where long-term investment, operational excellence and collaboration can help deliver the essential infrastructure and services that drive economic development and create lasting value for communities."
