Cabinda Refinery wins AIPEX award

Imbono has been recognised by the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) at it's prestigious 2026 event, receiving the Energy and Natural Resources awqard for the Cabinda Refinery's contribution to Angola's economic and industrial development.
Presented at the AIPEX Awards Gala in Luanda on 16 July, the award recognises projects that make a significant contribution to Angola's growth and investment landscape. Imbono was represented at the ceremony by Arsénio Chicolumuenho, Executive Board Member, and Marco Campêlo, Industrial and Engineering Director of the Cabinda Refinery.
The recognition highlights the strategic importance of the Cabinda Refinery in strengthening Angola's downstream energy sector, expanding domestic refining capacity and supporting the country's industrialisation agenda. The project is expected to enhance energy security, reduce reliance on imported refined products and create long-term economic value through local processing and skills development.
Commenting on the award, Arsénio Chicolumuenho said:
"Receiving this recognition from AIPEX reflects the work carried out on a strategic project for Angola. The Cabinda Refinery demonstrates Imbono's commitment to developing large-scale investments that strengthen national economic capacity and create value for the country."
The AIPEX Award reinforces Imbono's commitment to delivering strategic infrastructure and industrial projects that drive sustainable economic growth and create lasting value across Angola and other emerging markets.
